Job Description
We are looking for a dedicated Laboratory Supervisor to join our Core Lab team in Middletown on a full-time basis. As part of Kettering Health Network, we are committed to providing high-quality care and transforming the health care experience. In this role, you will work under the direction of the Manager and Medical Director, overseeing the work and employees of the section, ensuring accreditation standards, quality control, and inventory maintenance. Additionally, you will be responsible for selecting, training, evaluating, and counseling employees, maintaining budgetary control, and ensuring compliance with departmental and institutional policies.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate up-to-date job knowledge and adherence to department policies and procedures.
- Assign schedules and review staff work to ensure tests are performed in accordance with standards and deadlines.
- Maintain an adequate number of qualified staff following policies and procedures.
- Comply with regulatory and accreditation requirements, maintaining required records.
- Perform internal and external quality control, inventory, and ordering of supplies.
- Prepare and maintain procedure manuals and test section 'Activity Menu'.
- Ensure safety, infection control, hazardous materials policies are adhered to.
- Maintain compliance in the section, addressing equipment problems promptly.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory, Medical Technology, Chemical, or Biological Science.
- 3 years of Medical Technology experience.
- MT or MLS (ASCP) Certificate.
