Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Medical Technologist to join our team at Johnson Regional Medical Center on a full-time basis for WEO (Weekend and Evening Off) nights. In this role, you will be responsible for processing laboratory specimens, performing high-complexity tests, maintaining quality control practices, and ensuring accurate reporting in various areas of the clinical laboratory.
Responsibilities
- Function effectively in all areas of the clinical laboratory, including blood bank, chemistry, hematology, microbiology, and more.
- Lead and perform testing, inventory, quality improvement, and quality assurance tasks under the supervision of the Laboratory Manager.
- Adapt testing methods and procedures for different patient populations.
- Maintain accurate laboratory records and interact professionally with the laboratory team and other departments.
- Demonstrate proficiency in new testing methods, remain informed on current technologies, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology, Chemistry, or Biology.
- Or Associates degree in Medical Laboratory Technician with 2 years of clinical laboratory experience.
- Certification is preferred.
- Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Basic computer knowledge and operation of laboratory equipment.
- Physical ability to handle the demands of the position in a hospital environment.
