Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Medical Technologist to join our team at Johnson Regional Medical Center on a full-time basis for WEO (Weekend and Evening Off) nights. In this role, you will be responsible for processing laboratory specimens, performing high-complexity tests, maintaining quality control practices, and ensuring accurate reporting in various areas of the clinical laboratory.

Responsibilities

  • Function effectively in all areas of the clinical laboratory, including blood bank, chemistry, hematology, microbiology, and more.
  • Lead and perform testing, inventory, quality improvement, and quality assurance tasks under the supervision of the Laboratory Manager.
  • Adapt testing methods and procedures for different patient populations.
  • Maintain accurate laboratory records and interact professionally with the laboratory team and other departments.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in new testing methods, remain informed on current technologies, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology, Chemistry, or Biology.
  • Or Associates degree in Medical Laboratory Technician with 2 years of clinical laboratory experience.
  • Certification is preferred.
  • Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Basic computer knowledge and operation of laboratory equipment.
  • Physical ability to handle the demands of the position in a hospital environment.
