Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Housekeeping Manager to join our team at the Holiday Inn and Suites Gateway. As the Housekeeping Manager, you will be responsible for supervising the cleanliness and appearance of all guest rooms and public areas, as well as overseeing the personnel in the department. You will ensure that all housekeeping activities meet the high standards set by HMP Properties and address any related issues efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Create daily assignments and plans for housekeeping staff.
  • Supervise and monitor the work of Room Inspectors, Room Attendants, Houseman, Laundry, and Night Houseman.
  • Hire, train, schedule, and assign duties to department personnel.
  • Address guest complaints and liaise with the Maintenance department for repairs.
  • Conduct room inspections and maintain cleanliness standards.
  • Keep track of department supplies and uniforms, making replenishment requisitions as needed.
  • Implement and test new products or chemicals for housekeeping.
  • Conduct monthly departmental meetings and motivate employees to achieve goals.

Requirements

  • Detailed knowledge of hotel housekeeping and cleaning techniques.
  • Ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
  • High school diploma required, with at least 3 years of hotel operations experience preferred.
  • Strong language and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using software programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
