Responsibilities

• Promote professionalism and maintain a cooperative working environment.
• Ensure specimens are obtained following laboratory guidelines.
• Communicate pertinent data effectively to care providers.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory standards.
• Follow procedural directions and protocols accurately.
• Assist in prioritizing workload and maintaining productivity.
• Handle specimen packaging and transport.
• Perform patient registration, lab test ordering, specimen processing, and distribution.
• Demonstrate infection control practices and proper patient identification.
• Conduct drug screen collection and processing.
• Answer department calls and monitor phlebotomy draw lists.
• Engage in self-evaluation and continuous improvement.
• Promote service excellence and contribute to the growth of the laboratory.
• Collaborate with various departments and perform laboratory tests as required.
• Assist in preparing laboratory equipment for testing.
• Support laboratory personnel with assigned tasks.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Job Requirements:

• Certification as a phlebotomist upon hire.
• Certification as a medical lab assistant within 2 years of hire.
• Experience in a clinical setting.
