Responsibilities

• Promote professionalism and foster a collaborative working environment.
• Ensure proper specimen collection and adherence to laboratory guidelines.
• Communicate effectively by relaying essential information to care providers.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
• Organize workload efficiently and support coworkers for optimal productivity.
• Follow protocols for specimen handling, packaging, and transport.
• Handle patient registration, lab test ordering, specimen processing, and distribution.
• Practice infection control measures and ensure proper specimen transport.
• Perform drug screen collection and processing as required.
• Respond to laboratory phone calls and manage phlebotomy duties.
• Recognize emergent conditions and act accordingly.
• Provide phlebotomy services with professionalism and patient-centered care.
• Engage in self-evaluation to enhance knowledge and skills.
• Ensure quality care delivery to patients and contribute to service excellence.
• Collaborate with various departments within the healthcare system.
• Conduct laboratory tests following policies and procedures.
• Prepare laboratory equipment and assist with related processes.
• Perform additional assigned duties as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Preferred certifications as a phlebotomist and medical lab assistant within specific timeframes.
• Prior experience in a clinical setting is advantageous.
