Registered Nurse - PACU

Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team at The University of Vermont Health Network. As a Registered Nurse in the Pre/Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to patients throughout the perioperative process. Your responsibilities will include pre-procedure preparation, intra-procedure patient care, post-procedure critical evaluation, complications prevention, pain management, and patient/family education.

Unit Description

The Registered Nurse in the PACU will ensure a coordinated and comprehensive perioperative experience for patients undergoing surgical or invasive procedures. You will be expected to become proficient in two of the three areas of Perioperative Services, including Operating Room Circulating Nurse, Pre/Post Nurse, or Endoscopy Nurse.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current Registered Professional Nurse license in New York State.
• Completion of CVPH critical care course or passing grade on challenge exam within six months.
• Minimum two years of med/surg nursing experience (Critical Care experience preferred).
• ACLS certification required, PALS within 12 months.
• Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Flexible, willing to learn new skills, competent in IV therapy and venipuncture.

As a Registered Nurse in the PACU, you will be eligible for a $10,000 sign-on bonus (prorated for part-time positions).
